Well as I posted I own both and have used both extensively. Since buying and using the minis I have never used my regular size collars since. Used stuff does not bring enough money for me to sell them and so they are in my bag and truck as backup in case a mini temporarily fails me.

The regular collars have greater range and a little more battery life would their argued advantage. I have never found a practical difference or need for the much large collar on my bird dogs. I charge my collars daily during hunting seasons and my dog does not straight line out of the country. If I turned a hound loose after a mountain lion or bear I would use my Regular collar. On a trained bird dog I prefer the mini.

I think collar battery life and range are better.
