Help With Garmin Astro

Postby flitecontrol » Sun Jan 20, 2019 5:50 pm

When I first got the unit, there was an image of a dog in the lower left of the screen. If my dog was moving, there was an image of a dog running. When he stopped, the image changed to a dog on point. Now, after making some adjustments, the dog image is gone and there is a triangular arrowhead in it's place. I've accessed the owners manual online trying to recover the dog image, but with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks.
I've had several really good dogs, but none were perfect. Neither am I, so keep that in mind!

Thanks. I got to that page, but can't figure out how to delete the arrow and get the running dog icon to the screen instead. Think I was also able to delete the "Dog has treed quarry" notification. I get the arrow until the dog goes on point, then get the pointing dog icon. The answer is probably starring me in the face; I just can't see it.

I'm using the Alpha so the screens will likely be different. You will need to make sure you have Pointing Dog selected under Dog Type if that is an option on the Astro.

From the compass screen picture scroll down to the menu (three bars) at the bottom of the screen and select.

From this screen you have the option of turning the Running Pointer "On" or "Off". I think the display will change when the dog goes on point.
