Heck of a dog and a Heck of a trip!

Lots of good times, you don't see many dogs that can carry a mature swan on land. Forrest

Really was a great trip, spending time with family i see once every 2 or years is icing on the cake.

Harvey, he kept asking for a Black & Tan, but told him he had to wait!

I expected him to handle the swan, but you always wonder how they'll handle it after you send them. At first he didn't grab it, but a quick whistle and a fetch it up solved that, he did a great job of delivering to heal. They are crazy big birds, thankfully he is a stout dog.

He has to be stout, a mature swan will weight 25 LBS or better, 7' wing span.
My young dog only weighs 58LBS soaking wet. Forrest

A little bigger than I expected, he hunts well at 70 - 75#.

good stuff - your dog looks to have done a great job on the birds, especially that swan
hope to get my Earl on a swan or three before season goes out - we were to go this weekend but work got in the way

JD, it is none of my business ,but Earl is a young dog ,I would wait until next year, a mature crippled swan can be pretty aggressive especially with a young dog, same goes for geese. Forrest
