Hey Guys:
New to the forum. Our families first pup (PP) will be coming home in early July. I've done some bird hunting as a youngster, but pretty new to training a pointer. I've been reading through the posts and tons of great info here, looking forward to learning more. Saw this thread as a place to introduce myself.
My oldest boy (8) Joey killed his first Turk here in Northwest PA this year. We did not seal the deal on the youth day, but were able to make it happen on the regular first day April 27th. Was an awesome hunt with birds roosted all around us, they pitched down right in front and put on a show. Ended up not being able to get a shot until they moved off to our right. Was able to re-position our sitting direction without getting picked off and Joey shot this jake at 35 yds with the 870 youth 20 ga. The Federal TSS #9 turkey ammo is pretty awesome stuff.
Thanks ahead for having us on the forum.
Tony
