Gooseberry Pie

Postby Doc E » Sat Jul 13, 2019 10:10 am

A few days ago, a patient of mine brought us a big bunch of Gooseberries.
So, my wife made a couple pies with them.
Truly a taste treat.

So, use enough gooseberries to make a well stuffed 9" pie === in a pan.
Add a little honey and/or evaporated cane juice to taste
Cook and smash the berries as they cook, add a sprinkle of nutmeg and a sprinkle
of cinnamon.
When cooked, pour into a pie shell (top & bottom) and bake until the crust is slightly brown.

Gooseberry pie is in a class by itself.
