Cesky/Griff Question

Postby SMAbby » Fri Jul 26, 2019 7:09 pm

Hi all, been awhile. :D

I am going to be helping a guy with his Cesky, but I am super confused about the breed. I need to know what testing venue they use. I am not sure why he isnt asking the breeder, so I am trying to dig around myself.
The gentleman kept talking about breeding Cesky and Griffs? He talked about some kind of testing in WI. that sounded to me like kind of a specialty breed thing. The gentleman has a 10 year old Griff and says that he just doesnt remember what testing system he used???

Anyone have a direction for me to go?

Thanks

It isn't about the testing, it's about the breeder and pedigree. A fousek can be tested with NAVHDA, BWPGCA, VHDF, maybe more.

Looking around, it looks like they have their own tests. All very similar to NAVHDA.

I know nothing about the breed or breeder. Just trying to educate myself before I help him out.

I'm confused with being told they are breeding Cesky into the Griff......but it IS a griff from bohemia?
But other griff breeders wont breed in Cesky???
So are they or are they not the same breed?
I would swear this dog was a DD.

Testing in the Czech republic is very similar to the German system. The fall test is roughly equivalent to NAVHDA's utility test.

In the past the club called the WPGCA started to infuse Cesky Fousek dogs into there Griffon breeding stock. Many club members disagreed and split off and formed the AWPGCA and decided to keep the breeding "pure" griffons.

The WPGCA infused breeding program has not been very successful as far as I'm aware. Do to the infused blood lines they can not test in Navhda or AKC but can and do run there own Club Test.

Thats about the whole story.

If they are pure Fousek you can run the navhda testing system.
