Duck hunt

Postby J D Patrick » Sun Nov 29, 2020 6:51 am

Earl and I went down to Louisiana for the first split opener,,,,hunted 14th through morning of the 18th,, opening weekend was slow, but picked up during the week,,,we then took a quick cruise to Salt Lake City area (another story) then back to LA for a hog feed and two more days of hunting,,,, love the marsh of SW Louisiana and am blessed them fellows down there let me belong to their group,,,

Earl got some real world experience with mud boats, decoys, and duck search in the marsh grass,,, the marsh was hammered by the 2+ hurricanes this year that hammered this area of LA,,,

Earl did well - the fellows down there liked his work,, found birds that some of them had written off as lost,,,

Sounds like a great adventure for You and Earl. What kind of ducks did you shoot?

Man you aren't afraid of some driving are you? NC to LA, to UT, back to LA, then back to NC. Fun trip it sounds like and Earl is a stud!
You have to be smarter than the dog to train it.

I like Earl, cool dog.

Always nice to see folks who are willing to drive to where ever with their dogs. You make a great pair.

Very nice JD. The marshes on the gulf coast are a special place to hunt.

Make a trip to fish LA every year with some friends, one of these years I'll go to hunt. What area were you in? Looks like Earl is living the best life!

Haven't been to that area. My friends live in Gonzales and have a house boat in Venice.
