I made it out this am for pheasant and quail opener. Stepped in a gopher hole first thing before getting warmed up and pulled my calf. Did the best I could to try and stay at it. Dogs pointed 3 large coveys of quail, I was able to get shoots at two birds in the wind. Missed. Dogs pointed 5 hens. 3 more hens and 2 roosters busted out wild. I had a dog point to my right 30 yards and to my left 20 yards at the same time. Limped over to the young dog and flushed a hen. Limped back over to the old dog and it was a hen. Awesome dog work. Finished the day with a pond jump. Knocked down 3 ducks. While the dogs were chasing one of the wounded divers, another flock came in and I got 2 out of it. Walking back to the truck and another 3 ducks circled and got my last one for my limit. These Versatile Dogs are just fabulous!

You never have to tell a dog what time to be home, give them the keys, and they never ask for money.
