I upload my photos to Imgur and then copy and paste the link here. The Imgur site is free for the moment. So was Photobucket until it wasn't, so no idea how long Imgur will remain free. Way easier than reducing file sizes to get them to upload here is my experience.

That is very gracious Bruce. The country is absolutely gorgeous. Hopefully one day while I still have the legs I can get Cricket out there....

Thanks AG - I'm trying it... I like it so far.
Orhunter - waterfowl season sucks so far... and the pup wanted to chomp and not retrieve. I established a really firm "come" with ecollar and problem seems to be solved for now. Still about three weeks for season to turn around... meanwhile there's chukars.
Willie - work on it. I'd like to meet Cricket

Bruce: I drove down to our other house in Astoria yesterday and most the ducks that were here before the storm a few days ago are gone. There was a lot of them. They had to go somewhere.

Thanks for the great photos.

Forrest : I'm thinking it's your computer but maybe not. Anyway, here's a few more from the last week or so. My female (Gypsy) is out with a leg injury but is getting better. Meanwhile the pup is doing great.

Forrest, I can see all photos posted so guessing you are having a computer problem. I was unable to connect to the forum for the prior day or two?

Bruce, spectacular country/photos. That rear/side view mirror shot is Genius. Your pup is a looker.

Damn Bruce. You win the internet today. What a place and then to get to watch a pup a fine looking pup hone its skills with all that around you.
Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the images! I feel blessed to live in wild places and have the opportunity to teach and learn from my dogs. They help make sense of an otherwise crazy world. .

Spud was going down that edge on a run, spun his whole body around and slammed down hard on point on a covey of bobwhites in the 25 MPH wind this morning. He brings me a lot of joy.

Forrest, can you see it? I have not changed my photo host site so seems strange you have seen my photo posts all along but cannot now.

AG: Love the head low point. Never warmed up to the high head style. High head kinda says the dogs knows birds are around “somewhere,” low head says, they’re right here.

If you look back through this thread you will see more head up points than head low points from Spud. He points where the scent is coming to him from and is pretty easy to read as to where the birds are based on where his nose is pointing. Higher is further out in front of him. The high wind today had the scent coming out low from that dense cover.

Nice pic AG. Orhunter, That intense low head, low chest point you get in heavy cover when the birds are up close always has a more stylish look to me too. Be gassed up and ready to go as you step in on that.
The high head, standing tall, with the rigid body language that says I’m spotted up from the three point line impresses me most though. It shows me more about the nose and savvy a given dog possesses. Especially in sparse cover or with birds that are prone to run. In either case, an asset with birds the dog knows are unapproachable. Reading that body language is as close as a dog ever comes to talking. Telling me how to approach his pointed birds.
