Does anyone know if the Garmin pro 550 plus works in Canada (i know they are illegal). Love the simplicity of the unit.

I don't know. I used an Alpha in Alberta in 2017 and it worked no differently than in the States. Same GPS technology as the 550+, but I have no idea if things have changed in Canada since then.
