Why you would pull a cougar down to the dogs there is proof it only rips up dogs. Shoot the damn thing then send the dog up to drag it down dead.

Otherwise its considered cowardly. They have this thing with machismo. Im fine with it but dont like risking dogs.

That guy needs to find a better catch dog, that bull dog is just going to get himself and the bay dogs torn up catching like that.

If you get a chance check out the Dogs on Hogs videos from a guy in TX. He uses Dogo crosses and BM curs in his operation. They get it done a little cleaner and quicker. His dogs go in and hit like a tank and catch on the head, then all his curs pile in.

I just noticed this thread and had to commit on it. Like was said previously in Argentina the dogos are tested in various mannors. One being one on one against a mature big cat and the other with a mature wild boar. They are also the main source of many families meat income down there as they do not hunt for sport rather then for food.

Here in the states the Dogo is mainly used as a catchdog. Rarely are they allowed to hunt and catch their own prey as in most areas there is not enough land to do it on in one big section. Even here in Texas. If you look on the net you can find more clips of dogos that are culls and should not have been hunting. As the dogos nature by breeding is to track down and catch their prey. Any dogo that first bays at the prey animal, in most cases hogs, is a cull and not worthy of being bred. As they should show NO FEAR.

Here in Texas and most of the southern states this type of hunting goes on all the time. We use dogos and BMC's to try and control the hog population. So that farmers crops and ranchers' fields are not damaged as much. Here are a couple of pics you might enjoy.

I hope that there are never that many boars in Canada that we could hunt them. I think travelling to Texas is quite a fine idea if you want to hunt boar.

Hogs are already declared agricultural pests or vermin in many municipalities in western Canada due to the huge damage they can do to crops and farms. We can shoot them as pests at any time, just as we can shoot coyotes, skunks, etc. Often people do not realize hogs are even in the area due to their secretive nature. The damage they cause is noticed first, without ever laying eyes on the animals.
