Is rawhide fattening?

I was wondering if the raw hide "chewys" that are on the market for dogs to chew on are pure fat? I am hesitant to give them to my dog because I feel as if it would be the same as giving him a fatty cheeze burger. Is there any merit to my presumptions?

You know it's just like with humans, it seems like everything we really like to eat isn't good for us. Many of the rawhide treats have been infused with fat to make them "tastier." I tell people to pretend they are little candy bars, have one occasionally but don't make a steady habit of them. There are "dry" rawhide products that don't have the high fat content.
