Dr Mike, Do you recomend removing dewclaws on puppies. Our breed is french and they do not over there. Is it all that beneficial in a pointing dog?? Lori I think the dew claw issue is a bit overdone, I do reccomend most spoting breed pups have the dewclaws removed at 2-3 days of age. If you miss that window it becomes a more involved surgery and I would just pass unless they become a problem. Happy trails..........Dr. Mike
