I want a plain talking conservative who is willing to speak the truth rather than a PC script written by their political handlers with the help of a legion of pollsters. There are some contenders in the list but no standouts yet.

Me too. I thought about how to word the question and chose "like" on purpose. Maybe a follow up later on who you will vote for is in order.

Just once, to have someone who tells the truth. If they came up there and said, "Ya, I was a womanizing,pot smoking hell raiser when I was younger". They would get my vote.
Just talk straight to me and I will vote.

I want someone who is willing to be very unpopular and get the job done right. The more people they piss off, the more effective they'll be.

Understanding the priorities that make a significant difference in the world and sticking their collective necks out and doing it matters.

A while back, the Republican party called and I got "the speech." When it was my turn, I said, it sounds like you're only interested in beating Obama. We need someone willing to lead the country, not win an election. Then I was asked what I thought was the most important problems facing Americans today and was given several choices to pick from. I responded with, none of the above. The biggest problem facing everyone today is the out of control birth rate and we need someone to step up and quit rewarding people for reproducing. He said, I'll write that down.

You can't win by telling the truth...remember folks vote their own interest..not what's good for the country or the other guy. We are an adversarial system and there isn't enough blood in the streets yet for folks to be willing to give up a piece of their "cut"...but we may get there.

No "one" person can get the job done. Ultimately, WE have to get the job done by electing enough folks that will give us our medicine...do you think that will happen??

Story- I work with a woman who was secretary to the Dean at Harvard. She later went on to a secretarial position in the White House under Ronald Reagan. She claims Mitt Romney is the most down-to-earth, kind, generous, and caring gentleman she met in her entire time back East. She said he would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it, always privately taking care of someone's medical bills and things like that.

Ron Paul represented me in Congress when I used to live in Texas. He's got principles and is the only one who doesn't play the politics game of you-scratch-me, I'll-scratch-you, but he's a little quackers. I think he'd make a heckuva V.P. Not sure I want him in charge, though.
