The man I got EMY from hunts with Arthur all the time, he has Arthurs sister AXA, and yes the color is fawn - Term's the French use for that color is "Thigh of nymph" or "Peach dredge". Your pictures of him are fantastic - I have many picture of him that Franck has sent me, but none that compair with yours.

The Bourbonnais folks have some great names for the unique coloring of the breed. When I asked Michel Compte what "lilas passé" (faded lilac) looked like he said "imagine a cup of yogurt with a few blueberries stirred in...that's what it looks like!"

Yup 8 pages of Spins and lots of photos of them in action as well as lots info on their history, development, form, function, clubs, trials, tests, health, name etc. etc.

Each breed gets an entire chapter and just about all the info on them all is based on what I gathered from hunters!

Wow, Canada Post actually seems to be on the ball lately. Packages are arriving all over the place today. Now, if they don't go on strike this week, I may actually get even more books out the door!

Big Bird, enjoy the read and post your thoughts about the book (warts and all  ) when you can.

Your book looks fantastic, love your photography! ...but no chapter on "Pointers". Now before anyone jumps on me that the book is about Continentals, there is a chapter on Pointing Labs! (Just teasing!)

Congrats Craig! :D

Thanks! ...and just wait for Volume 2!

The whole next book is on the pointing breeds from the British Isles. I've already started on it and will be adding to my photo collection of Pointers this summer when I visit Colvin's training camp up here in Manitoba and get more images of setters when we go to the US later on. We will also be traveling to the UK next spring to photograph Pointers and Setters in their native lands and then to the continent where the Italians breed more setters in a week than the English do in an entire year!
