Spud earned a Prize I 199 in his UT test today. His nervous Handler contributed to a 3 in Steadiness and a 3 in Heeling. All 4s otherwise. Pup is 18 months old.

Thank You Kelly and Brett for my puppy. And Thanks to Terry as well for some good advice along the way. Appreciate you all.

Congrats to you and Spud! That is an impressive accomplishment for handler and dog, especially at that age. Thanks for your commitment in your dog.

I sure do know what is next. Dove season, then teal, huns, sharptails, ducks, quail, pheasants ...

Wow! Love seeing dogs who UT at such a young age. Do you think you'd consider the Invitational?

Yes would consider it.

We had to put our beloved Jack down two weeks ago. He was closing in on 14 and we had a lifetime of adventures together. So I am down to one dog at the moment. The closest NAVHDA chapter is 3 hours (one way) of hard driving away. So working on backing would be a chore. Guess I could get schooled on using a silhouette. Never used one.

And the bigger issue is I will be doing an archery elk hunt in NM in Sept 2018. Preparing my body and my bow skills is not getting any easier. The timing of that priority in Sept may present an insurmountable conflict with the dates of the Inv. I have not looked into it.

I was looking forward to fishing vs. training next summer :D .
