My Bone Point pup got a 112 prize 1 in the NA

Postby AR-GWP » Wed Apr 04, 2012 4:29 pm

My 13 month old pup got a perfect score from the judges in the NA test this past weekend! Not only am I a first time handler, this is my first hunting dog ever. Him and I drove over from Arkansas to Decatur, TX to test with the Texas NAVHDA chapter. I couldn't believe it when the judge announced the score. I couldn't be more proud of my dog which I got from Kelly at Bone Point Kennels. So, thanks again Kelly for picking this guy for us, he has been wonderful! We will take a little time off and then start the serious training towards the utility test. Does anyone have a recommendation on any trainers I could use in the south to do some finish training? I'd like to do most of it but know that I don't want to hurt our chances either. I'd be willing to drive about 3 or 400 miles from south Arkansas and I'd like to start researching some trainers now. Thanks.

I watched you and your pup Ruger most of the day Saturday.
You followed me when I went out in the field with my pup Piper
You have a great dog and have trained Ruger well.
I enjoyed your smile when you and Ruger came back with the wet Pheasant. :D

Hope to see you at some of our training days.
We should have one training day the end of this month for UTP and UT ,drag, search, and water retrieve.
Check with the TEXAS NAVHDA to make sure.

Congrats on you score. And as far as trainers go, do it yourself. It is a ton more gratifying if you do, trust me!
It isnt that difficult and it sounds like your dog has the goods.

Rob,

Ruger's entire litter ended up testing very well. All 7 puppies in his litter were tested NAVHDA NA scoring 112/I, 112/I, 112/I, 112/I, 110/I, 108/I, and 106/I. What is really neat is that 6 of the 7 puppies were handled by first-time handlers, with the youngest pup being 5 months old!

I am still waiting for some pictures of Ruger!
