healing time for a broken bone

Postby River » Wed May 21, 2003 5:21 pm

My 5 month old Griffon just broke the ball end of his fibula. He is being lag bolted back together by a specialist. I've been told he will take three to four months to heal and will basically be keneled during this time.

Anyone go through this before and have some advise for me?

Is somewhat age dependant

How old is the dog ? Healing time can be influenced by the age of the dog.
Also, the fibula is pretty much non-weight bearing, and will heal faster than if it was the tibia.
